EBONY Magazine played Cupid last year and joined the heartstrings of two readers looking for love.  In a new twist to the annual EBONY Bachelor feature, EBONY gave readers a chance to "Win A Date With An EBONY Bachelor" in selected cities.  Capt. Wendell Williams, a U.S. Air Force officer assigned to the Pentagon, was among 26 men named the "Best Bachelors of the Year" by EBONY and agreed to participate in the contest.

Bernadette Fair, director of purchasing operations for Black Entertainment Television, won the romantic dinner with Williams.  The couple dined at Georgia Brown's in Washington, D.C., and from that night on were inseparable.

Williams also formed an instant bond with Fair's 8 year old daughter, Diamond.  Within months, Williams and Fair were engaged.  Wedding plans are being made for this October.  It is the second marriage for both.
